Last Primark Haul!

My last Primark Haul (at least for a while!) is finally up. I just couldn't keep myself from going there one more time. I also show a few items from Boohoo, Topshop, and the Disney Store. xx

Friday Internet Finds

Happy Friday everyone! Do you have fun weekend plans? I hope yours are better than mine, because my weekend is going to consist of studying for my exams on Monday and Tuesday...

1. Part of why I love Zoe Sugg so much is her efforts to bring attention to anxiety. Her interview with Glamour UK for Mental Health Awareness week is so important.

2. Some of the questions on this "How Well Do You Know These Musical Lyrics?" quiz are honestly offensively easy.

3. I've recently been working on taking better Instagram photos and this advice from The Haute Notes is so helpful!

4. I love love love this t-shirt that YouTuber Niomi Smart designed for Boohoo. In fact, it's on its way to me in the mail right now. Plus, part of the proceeds go to a great cause!

5. Alright, Swifties: how well do you really know the lyrics to 1989? This quiz will reveal the truth...I only missed one. ;)

How to Survive Studying for Exams

I know that a lot of American students are already finished with exams, but I'm still stuck in the middle of exam revision. I thought it might be nice to put together a little list of exam studying tips to help anyone who's still struggling through. If you have exams going up, good luck!

(1) Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. Whenever I'm studying for exams, I have stress break-outs and I forget to take care of myself. Thus, drinking lots of water is very important. It helps your brain work (I'm not a science student, so I can't tell you why!) and it keeps your skin clearer.

(2) Use the right tools. I like to combine the use of physical tools, like flashcards and notebooks, and online tools like Quizlet. Online quiz tools are great for testing yourself on information like vocabulary or dates (I also use it to memorize the authors of books), while I use physical index cards for writing down more information.

(3) Find the right study space for you. During exams at St Andrews, the library is so full of people revising. Personally, I don't work well in the library at all. I work much better in a coffee shop or my room. Don't let the fact that everyone else is going to the library make you feel like you should study there if it's not the right environment for you!

(4) Take care of yourself. In addition to taking care of yourself physically, you have to take care of yourself mentally and emotionally as well. This means rewarding yourself with an episode of your favorite TV show after hours of studying or just admitting that it might be worth it to take an hour away from studying to hang out with your friends that you won't see over the summer. If you don't let yourself have some time off, then you're just going to make yourself more stressed which will make your studying less effective. Never forget that your mental and physical health is much more important than your grades. xx

Rimmel Makeup Haul

What do you do after a long day of exam revision? Go to the nearest drugstore and buy new makeup, of course! Or is that just me?

In any case, I ended up buying three new Rimmel products that I'm absolutely in love with. I've been loving some other Rimmel products lately (such as my new mascara and the red lipstick I bought a few months back), but I actually didn't go into Boots with the purpose of buying Rimmel products...it just happened!

Glam Eyes Liquid Liner
I much prefer the liquid pen for doing normal eyeliner, but the liquid wand is so much nicer (and easier to use) for doing the flick at the end. I'll probably be combining the two tools from now on. It's a little harder to draw a thinner every-day look with the wand, but it does make a lovely "going out" look!

Brow This Way Brow Gel
I've seen so many YouTubers using brow gel and I really wanted to try it! It's definitely one of those things that you have to be careful with because a little goes a long way. I'll definitely be using this on those days when I'm too lazy or don't have time to fill in my brows properly with a pencil.

Exaggerate Lipliner
The one issue I have with my red lipstick (by Rimmel) is that it tends to smudge around the edges. I'm not typically a fan of lipliners, but I decided that I needed to make an exception for red lipstick since I've been wearing it so much. I love that this one of more of a crayon than a pencil because it doesn't make my lips feel dried out at all.

I would definitely recommend all three of these products. Rimmel is one of my favorite brands because they're great quality (and I love their packaging!) without being as expensive as other brands like Revlon.

I'm in no way sponsored by Rimmel...I bought all of these products myself! xx

Friday Internet Finds

Happy Friday, everyone! To anyone who has exams around this time, best of luck to you. And don't forget to take care of yourselves while you're studying. Your physical and mental health are more important than your grades. xxx

1. In case you need cheering up because of exams...find out "Which Actor Would Play Your Lover in the Movie Version of Your Life?" I got Chris Hemsworth and I'm not complaining.

2. Just out Carrie Hope Fletcher's advice for summer in Miss Vogue.

3. Louise Pentland (of Sprinkle of Glitter) wrote a beautiful blog post about turning 30 years old. I'm about to turn 21 and I have similar thoughts of "When did I get so old???" so this was incredibly inspiring to me.

4. I may not be a fan of the preppy aesthetic personally, but I've been reading The College Prepster blog for years now. Carly recently posted some photos of her adorable toy poodle, Teddy... #toocute

5. I always love Rebecca's videos, but this one on how to recreate Taylor Swift's 1989 Tour Makeup is simply perfect. (Her resemblance to Taylor is just uncanny!)

What I'm Looking Forward To This Summer

I can't believe it's already May! Where did spring go? That said, I'm so looking forward to summer right now. Even though I hate the heat and am not a fan of the beach at all, there are so many exciting things to look forward to...

my first internship

spending time with my family, especially my little sister, after being away from them for so long

not having to do schoolwork

having time to read books i want to read

going to California for the first time and attending Vidcon

being back in the USA and thus being able to go to Taco Bell

going to taylor swift's '1989' tour

wearing dresses and playsuits without freezing

the redesigning of this blog (yes! I will be doing a lot of work on it and relaunching it this summer...more info on that later)

What are you looking forward to this summer? xx

April Favourites

Can you believe April is already over? It feels like I was just writing my March Favourites post! It's kind of crazy to think about the fact that I will write my May Favourites post from the States...

Fashion & Beauty

I recently purchased these PJs at Primark for just seven pounds and I'm absolutely in love with them! There are few things I love as much as pretty and comfortable lounge clothing. These PJs make it difficult to get myself to take a shower in the morning, because I never want to take them off!

I've been experimenting around with new hairstyles lately and I really love this one that I taught myself. It feels very Peggy Carter from Captain America to me, and only needs a few bobby pins!

You might remember that in the same Primark Haul where I showed off my new PJs, I mentioned that I bought a pack of four clips for 2 pounds. I thought I would use them when I curled my hair (and they are fantastic for that!), but I've ended up wearing my hair half-up with one of these clips almost every day in the past few weeks.

Food
I used to be a PG Tips purist, but I discovered Tetley tea recently and have been loving it. I've gotten so spoiled living in the Land of Tea and finding new ones that I love. I don't know what I'll do when I go back to the States!

I had stopped eating all crisps (or chips for Americans) except Cool Ranch Doritos but I recently rediscovered Pringles and have become obsessed with them. I ate them all the time as a child, but they're one of those foods that I tend to have short periods of eating lots of them followed by months where I forget they exist.

Entertainment

You may have already picked up on my love for Carrie Hope Fletcher (if not, it's probably your first time on my blog). So it's probably no surprise that her book is one of my April Favourites, if not my favorite that I've ever read! You can watch my full review here (warning: I get a bit emotional).

I started watching the BBC show Poldark in April and I'm absolutely hooked. I have a great love for period dramas, especially when they feature attractive men so Poldark definitely does not disappoint.

London Vlog!

My London vlog is finally here!

Friday Internet Finds

Happy May 1st, everyone! Can you believe it's already May? Where does the time go?

1. For all you theatre lovers, West End star Gina Beck recently put up a video on her blog that shows how she does her hair and makeup for the show she's currently in.

2. This "Who Said It: Blair Waldorf or Beyonce?" quiz is full of important quotes. #ifoundmynewmantra

3. Tony nominations were...surprising to say the least. I was very sad to see Finding Neverland and Gigi get so obviously snubbed, as they're the two shows I want to see most!

4. If you've ever wanted to know "Should You Be With Steve Rogers, Bucky Barnes, or Sam Wilson?", now is your chance.

5. One of my best friend Lucy's friends has also started making YouTube videos and they're hilarious. Kenny is so nice (and BELGIAN!) and I'm proud to call him my first YouTuber friend. Part of why I love his videos is that I always relate to them so much...This one is a prime example. (I am Emma Woodhouse, always single and yet always giving advice on relationships.)
